Are We Living Inside an Information Field?

I was truly back there
Work, 100% accurate to the last detail

My Reflections on Data, Memory, and a Strange Experience

Over the last few months, I keep circling back to the same idea. It comes up in conversations, podcasts, meditations, and even during investigations. It’s as though the universe or whatever sits behind it, has been nudging me toward a single, almost uncomfortable realisation:

We might well be living inside an information field.

That phrase can sound abstract, even mystical, scary, confusing, but I mean it in a very literal sense. An environment saturated with data. A structure that records, holds, and transmits information in ways that go beyond our physical senses. As a paranormal investigator and researcher, the more I work with energy, memory, and human consciousness, the harder it becomes to dismiss the possibility that reality isn’t just physical, it could well be informational.

However, what does that really mean?

Is the Etheric Field Made of Information?

In both metaphysics and fringe physics, there is a recurring idea, with some scientific evidence, that beneath the material world lies an etheric layer. I mean this isn't just an idea of a kind of subtle medium that carries energy, intention, and memory, this is what is termed as the Akashic Field. Others refer to zero-point energy, the collective unconscious, morphic resonance, or simply “the ether.” Different names, different traditions, yet all describing something surprisingly similar, a field of information that interacts with consciousness.

This isn’t simply spiritual romanticism. In paranormal research, we encounter phenomena that point repeatedly to the existence of some form of memory stored outside the human brain. A building “remembers” its tragedies termed as stone tape... An object retains the emotional imprint of a former owner. There are stories of cars being 100% reliable until the day an owner passes and the car then becomes completely undrivable and un reliable. As if the car responded to the very energy of previous owner, or perhaps I should better term, keeper.

Locations replay moments of the past like a looped recording. Occasionally, individuals walk into a space and access information they have no normal means of knowing!

If you step back and look at all this through a rather more academic lens, there are only a handful of possible explanations. One is fraud, another is coincidence, another is something else indeed. However, there are enough replications, enough patterns, enough verifiable experiences, that these explanations fall away and you are left with something much more challenging: the idea that information is woven into the fabric of reality itself.

Are Human Beings Fractals of a Larger Data System?

If the world around us holds information, the next question is obvious therefore... do we hold it too?

There is a fascinating theory in consciousness studies that human beings are not isolated minds trapped inside skulls, but interconnected nodes of a larger informational system. In other words, fractals. Self-similar patterns within a greater whole. Not separated from the field, but expressions of it.

It’s a compelling idea, because it explains things conventional neuroscience struggles with. Premonitions. Déjà vu. Shared dreams. Intuitive knowing. Sudden insights. Even mediumship and psychic impressions begin to make more sense if consciousness is not generating information, but accessing a shared reservoir of data and time.

If we are indeed fractal expressions of a universal information field, then the boundaries of what we consider “memory” or “imagination” may be much more porous than we realise. Events, emotions, histories, and even potentials might already exist within us, waiting for the right conditions to be perceived. Ideas fall from the field when the time is right... Humans connect with the data field in meditation or hypnosis or during sleep.

Does This Mean Everything That Has, And Will Happen Is Within Us?

This is where the theory becomes unsettling. If information persists in the field, and if we are part of that field, then we may not simply be observers of history but rather we may be participants in a continual informational exchange, both future and past. Consciousness may be capable of tuning into the past and future with the same ease that a radio tunes into different frequencies.

Some people, particularly savants, seem to do this without effort. Their minds move through information with a strange purity, unfiltered by logic or ego. They do not “work out” the answer; they simply receive it. It’s as though their internal dial is less cluttered and can access the field directly. From an academic standpoint, it challenges our very understanding of where knowledge truly resides. From a paranormal standpoint, it explains almost too much.

Occasionally, someone with no history of savant ability finds themselves tapping into the field spontaneously. Which brings me to a personal experience that I’m still trying to make sense of at the moment. A taste of the data field or just memory recall? People who know me well, will know of my spontaneous past life regressions, but this was different.

The Meditation That Became Something Else

A few weeks ago, during a meditation session, something unexpected happened. I’ve meditated for years, and I know the difference between imagination, memory, and a genuine shift in consciousness. This wasn’t a memory. It wasn’t a dream. And it wasn’t something I visualised deliberately.

It was an immersion.

One moment I was sitting calmly, breathing, following the usual settling of the mind. The next, I was back at my old workplace, physically, visually, emotionally present. The detail was extraordinary. Not symbolic detail, but exact detail. The colour of the walls. The echo of footsteps in the corridor. The way the overhead lights hummed slightly. People walking past me as though time had folded back on itself.

Then there were 'my' filing cabinets. Rows of them. I walked past and the numbers on the drawers stood out with perfect clarity, I believe correct, precise, consistent with how they were years ago. Not guessed. Not remembered. Known.

It didn’t feel like recollection, no, it was too detailed. It felt like I was tuning into a preserved version of the place, as though the environment itself was stored somewhere in the etheric field. A living archive. I was showing someone around... I was actually experimenting with telepathic message transference at the time and then I was showing them around... Names I haven't remembered for years.

I could have stayed there for hours, maybe I did. I do not recall when the experience had ended, it faded. The connection thinned, like a signal drifting out of range, and I was back in the room, I had clearly fallen asleep at some stage, but it wasn't a dream because I was consciously present, breathing, blinking. I am wondering what exactly I had tapped into.

What Does This Mean for Paranormal Research?

I don’t offer this as proof, only as part of a pattern I’ve seen over investigations and academic inquiry. Consciousness appears to be capable of interacting with information beyond the physical brain. Whether we call it the etheric field, the informational substrate, or something else entirely, the evidence keeps pointing toward the same conclusion:

Reality is not just made of matter, it is made of information.

I think that we participate in it, we shape it, and sometimes, for reasons we don’t yet fully understand, we access it in ways that challenge everything we think we know about time, perception, and the human mind. At one time I was channelling information and I got told fold space to bend time. I told others, and only recently I have seen drawings that are suggesting just this... fold space and bend time... where did I get that from and from who? There's lots I have channelled and only now having greater confidence in what I am accessing...

The universe may be far more like a library than a machine and occasionally, during meditation, paranormal investigation, or a moment of stillness, we find ourselves wandering into a chapter we never realised we could read. Good luck and enjoy using this information, let me know how it goes.
