A REAL Ghost Captured on Video; The Fleur de Lys, Pilley

There are investigations that feel active in the moment, and then there are investigations that truly begin once you leave the building. This was both!
Following our return investigation, the most compelling evidence emerged, not during the night itself, but later.
At first when Barry sent the video I didn't see it... but then, unmistakably, it was there. I have watched, frame by frame, that something extraordinary has revealed itself. A REAL ghost caught on camera!
Camera Placement: A Real Ghost Caught on Camera
We always use a mixture of cameras during investigations, IR CCTV, Handheld IR, Night vision Bodycams and Full Spectrum cameras. One of the static cameras had been positioned in the bar, angled toward the restaurant area. At first, nothing appeared out of the ordinary. Then, within a short segment of footage, a distinct human-shaped figure became visible in the restaurant space, silhouetted in 2 distinct flashes of light.
The outline was unmistakably feminine. What made this especially striking was that the figure was not simply a shadow or distortion, it (she) appeared to be outlined by flashes of light, briefly illuminating the form before fading again. This occurred twice within the same sequence, as though the presence was attempting to manifest or be acknowledged.
Crucially, and amazingly, this event was not noticed in isolation. During the original investigation, the landlord repeatedly stated, over a period of five minutes, that he was certain someone was standing directly behind him. He described the sensation clearly and consistently, with no visual confirmation at the time. The timing and location of his experience correlate precisely with the area where the figure later appears on camera. This alignment between subjective experience and objective review is difficult to ignore.

Previously, at the Fleur de Lys
This evidence adds further weight to a previous moment when we experienced intelligent communication at the location. On an earlier investigation, a direct voice phenomenon (DVP) was captured in response to a simple but pointed question:
“Was it you who threw the flowers in the vase?”
The reply was calm, clear, and deliberate:
“No, it wasn’t me.”
This response suggested not only awareness, but identity, someone able to distinguish themselves from other reported activity within the building. Taken together, a working theory has begun to form.
Historical knowledge of the premises would suggest a former landlady with a strong emotional attachment to the building is still resisent. Staff and owners have long described the venue as feeling “looked after,” rather than hostile or oppressive.
If the figure captured is indeed her, it would explain several consistent features of the activity, the calm nature of interactions, the absence of fear-driven responses, and the apparent presence in communal areas such as the bar and restaurant rather than hidden or inaccessible spaces.
What stands out most is intent. The flashes of light outlining the figure do not resemble random anomalies. They appear purposeful, almost as if energy was being gathered briefly, enough to be seen, but not sustained. Combined with the landlord’s certainty that he was not alone, this moment feels less like chance and more like acknowledgment.

A Theory from Interviews
In interviews, one thing that is becoming apparent. Light has everything to do with spirits and manifestations of ghosts. Spirit portals appear to be activated by flashing light, something we have witnessed at Wymering Manor. In addition, a "block of light" was seen moving to a door, a flash of light the other side and then "the outline of a women moving around" was mentioned. Piece by piece the puzzle is solved...
As ever, we approach conclusions carefully. Video evidence must be scrutinised, alternative explanations ruled out, and patterns assessed over time. Yet some moments resist easy dismissal. This is one of them.
"Sometimes, the building speaks after the doors are locked. While sometimes, the evidence waits patiently for us to truly look."
